Nduwhite Ndubuisi A.

Nduwhite Ndubuisi Ahanonu is the founder of the International Institute for Creative Development (IICD) Abuja, which is helping to reposition the ideology and the creative narratives of the Abuja- art scene/artists and Nigerian artists at large.

He initiated IICD International Artists Residency, which has created new creative synergies, stimulated hybrid conversation and creative exchanges amongst Nigerian artists and the visiting international artists in residence, with a focus to inspire research opportunities, stimulates new arguments, dialogues and questions in line with international curatorial practices.

IICD-Center major objective is to help the artist find their voice; connect their trajectories and develop new narratives in the context of contemporary art practice.

Nduwhite Ndubuisi Ahanonu, hails from Oguta in Imo State, Nigeria.  A MFA Student of Art and Cultural Management Luephana University, Luneburg, Germany (ongoing),  He represented Nigeria at the prestigious Courant de Monde Programme; Building Public Engagement, Paris and Nantes, June 2018. Studied “The Cycle: Management of Successful Arts and Cultural Organizations’, Jan 8-Feb 19, 2017 from the University of Maryland, College Park, He studied Managing the Art for Cultural Organization from Leuphana, University of Luneburg, Germany (MOOC, 2015). He also attended Asiko Art School in Dakar, Senegal in 2014. He is an Alumnus of the U.S. Department of State (IVLP), 2011. Visiting Curators programme, Fresh Paint Festival Tele Viv, Israel, 2011. He also represented Nigeria in 2010 at Dak’Art Biennale, Dakar, Senegal. He attended the International Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, Berlin, in 2008 under the sponsorship of the Ford Foundation West Africa. In 2006 he was invited to Midbar International Artists Residency, Tele Viv, Israel.

Nduwhite is a curator, a cultural manager, and a studio artist,

he has conducted and facilitated numerous local and international workshops and residencies, in partnership with the US Embassy, has organized 4 upcycling workshops with over 60 participants,

He recently in partnership with the Institute du France organized a workshop on portfolio review with French-based curator Caroline Hancock 2018. He Curated, Hilton at 30, “Catalyst for Future Cities” Transcorp Hilton Abuja, 2017.  Curator, “Though, I don’t know you” a performance to celebrate the Francophonie Festival, Belgian Ambassador’s Residence 2017 Abuja. In 2016 he curated:  Abuja Alive, a group artist’s exhibition, IICD Center Abuja, and Co-Curated Finding the True North, Artist Residency, Karlstad, Sweden, 2016.

He is the creative Director of, Abuja Open House annual Art Festival, Nduwhite believes like every other social ideology is constructed so is culturally constructed and can be intentional.

He has 4 solo exhibitions and several local and international group exhibitions to his credit.
